RED WINES
Thorn Clarke Shotfire Quartage 2007, Barossa South Australia; $19.95 #24091 Rating – 90
A nice 4 wine blend (cab, merlot, petit verdot and Malbec)

Domaine Les Yeuses Les Epices Syrah 2007, Vins De Pays D’oc; Languedoc Roussillon (Midi), France; $12.95 #177584) Rating – 89
You can’t go wrong with the price. Wine Align says try it with ribs or chili.

Château De Pena 2006, Ac Côtes Du Roussillon Villages; Languedoc Roussillon (Midi), France; $13.95 #178392 Rating – 88
A full bodied Red and again, you can’t go wrong at this price. Can cellar for 5 or 6 years.

WHITE WINES
Chateau Saint Roch Vieilles Vignes Grenache Blanc/Marsanne 2009, Languedoc Roussillon (Midi), France; $13.95; #175232; Rating – 88
A nice medium bodied summer pleaser. Wine Align says try with grilled calamari

Flat Rock Cellars Chardonnay 2007, VQA Twenty Mile Bench, Ontario; $16.95 #681247 Rating – 88
A great Burgundy style white from Niagara’s bench region. If you haven’t tried wines from this area, here is one to start with. Roast chicken or grilled salmon match up well.

Goats Do Roam White 2009, Western Cape South Africa; $12.95 #943167 Rating – 87
A medium bodied white blend. If it’s anything like their red blend this is one to buy a case of. Serve to your thirsty friends.

Highfield Estate Paua Sauvignon Blanc 2009, Marlborough New Zealand; $14.95 #164020 Rating – 88
A very good wine with some complexity and a great value.

DESERT WINE
Gonzalez Byass Oloroso Dulce Solera 1847; Spain; $15.95 #972109; Rating – 93
Try this with some chocolate after dinner, you won’t be disappointed.
